India was also one of the 60 participating countries like the Oro and was placed in the Middle East and Africa region.

As you know, India finished third in their region last time but missed out on a spot in the FIFA Nations Playoff 2021. India ended the season with a global ranking of 22 and in the 2021 rankings along with Italy, Argentina and Spain were ranked above the giants India.
For the 2022 season, India was relegated to the Asia or Oceania region and placed in the play-ins, which would provide direct qualification for the playoffs (the final stage before the Nations Cup). By the way, during the play-in, India played 32 matches and in which India won 12 times, lost 11 and drew 9.

However, India achieved its highest ranking and during the entire 4 match weeks, India retained its position in Division 1. And with this, India successfully qualified for the playoffs by finishing second in the Consistency Points chart. During this period, India also achieved its highest global ranking of 19.
And going into the playoffs, the target was easy for India. win 2 matches and cement their place in the showpiece event and that is exactly what they have done, one can say it is the success of India’s hard work and dedication that has brought the Indian team here
